One of the easiest parts of Spanish grammar is forming yes-or-no questions.
Unlike English, Spanish usually does not need auxiliary verbs such as do, does, or did.

Do you speak Spanish?
¿Hablas español?
Do you work here?
¿Trabajas aquí?
Do you have a car?
¿Tienes coche?
Notice how the Spanish questions are formed.
The main verb stays exactly the same. There is no extra verb before it.

In many cases, the statement and the question have the same word order.
For example:
Hablas español.
(You speak Spanish.)
¿Hablas español?
(Do you speak Spanish?)

The difference in writing is shown by the opening and closing question marks.
In speech, the difference is usually indicated by intonation.
This makes Spanish question formation much simpler than English, where auxiliary verbs are required in many present and past tense questions.
