Porque means “because.”
It is used to answer a question or explain a reason.
For example:

Porque me gusta el idioma.
(Why do you study Spanish?)
(Because I like the language.)
¿Por qué no viniste ayer?
Porque estaba enfermo.
(Why didn’t you come yesterday?)
(Because I was ill.)

A simple way to remember the difference is this:
Use por qué when asking for a reason.
Use porque when giving the reason.
Although the difference is small, using the correct form is essential for writing accurate Spanish.
Once you associate por qué with questions and porque with answers, choosing the correct one becomes much easier.
